US Dollar Index

What It Is

The US Dollar Index — measures the value of the US dollar against a weighted basket of six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF).

Why It Matters

A strong dollar tightens global financial conditions, pressures emerging markets, and reduces US corporate earnings from abroad. A weak dollar is generally risk-on for global assets.

How To Read

Rising DXY = risk-off globally, EM stress, commodity pressure. Falling DXY = risk-on, EM relief, commodity tailwind. Regime Intelligence uses DXY as a core cross-asset stress indicator.
